Expert PanelWorking with a community and tribal-based steering group, Ecology initiated a process that called for engaging a panel of national experts with experience using innovative technologies and approaches to clean up similar sites. Eight panelists were selected based on a nation-wide call for expertise. These experts represented a broad range of scientific, engineering, and construction backgrounds. The panel focused its efforts on a 3-day workshop on Bainbridge Island January 12-14, 2010, designed to produce and evaluate ideas for further consideration. The workshop offered opportunities for other experts in the field, and the Bainbridge Island community, to participate and offer ideas. See below for information on the expert panel and materials from the workshop.
